(Part B) provides supplementary medical insurance benefits
In general, Part B covers 2 types of services
1. Medically necessary services like lab tests and surgeries.
2. Preventative services which includes health care to prevent illness (like the flu) or detect it at an early stage, when treatment is most likely to work best.
Medicare also covers supplies like wheelchairs and walkers considered medically necessary to treat a disease or condition.
